Events in UAE June 2015: Summer Fun

Summer is already here and what great way of enjoying the UAE other than knowing where are all the hot events in June? So be prepared for all the fun and make a note of the greatest events in UAE June 2015!

1. Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2015. Yep, in Abu Dhabi the entire summer season is full of fun and activities! From June 11 all the way to September 5, three months of relaxation, adventure and lots of new activities are waiting for you here in the UAE. Comedy acts, children shows, famous star concerts, theater shows, amazing performances and anything you can think of, you can find them all here during this summer.

2. Dubai Desert Road Run. This is an exciting sports event that lets you track a progress throughout the entire year and also get to meet other runners. It takes place several times a year and it has various tracks: one of 10 km and one of 3 km. It takes place on the 6th of June from 6:00 AM at the Sevens Stadium. If you want to participate, the tax is AED 85 for the 10 km race and AED 50 for the 3 km one.

3. Al Noor Annual Gala Dinner 2015. This annual charity gala takes place on the 5th of June at the Al Johar Ballroom in Madinat Jumeirah. The admission for a single person is AED 850, and for a table of 10 – AED 8.000. The event is hosted by the Al Noor Centre for Children with Special Needs and it is very interesting, with fund raising activities, live entertainment and an amazing multi course dinner.

4. Dates Festival. Held between June 1st and June 15th at the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana in Abu Dhabi. Dates are an important part of the Iftar in every home here, so if you choose to visit the festival, you will see for yourself the preparations for the Ramadan month. It encourages the local production of dates and here you can find out more about these fruits, taste a variety of products made of them, like vinegar, syrup, jam, pickles, juices, sweets and many others.

5. Fashion Saray. Held in Dubai World Trade Center between June 11 and June 13, Fashion Saray is an event that features everything in what concerns royal fashion in the Arab culture. You can admire here classic and contemporary shows of fashion, from bridal dresses, normal dresses, kaftan, accessories, scents, bags, jewelry and many other things, all from the trendiest designers in the Middle East.

6. Dubai Pro Wrestling Live! We end our list of amazing events in UAE June 2015 by bringing you another sports event: the Dubai Pro Wrestling Live! The local wrestling academy hosts this great event at HM Fitness on the 12th of June from 6:30 PM. Events in UAE April 2015: Global Village

March is gone, but April is here, so for sure it’s time to present you the hottest events in UAE April 2015! Local or tourist, young or old, man or woman, you will definitely find something interesting to watch or participate in this month in the UAE. So check out our list and plan ahead!

Only until the 15th of April you can still visit the Global Village event! Opened in November 2014, it’s the nation’s biggest shopping arena. Open-air theme park, festivals, shopping venues and all kinds of entertainment, you can find them all here, together with 70 participating countries in more than 36 pavilions. Taste exotic food, take your kids for a ride and enjoy a great atmosphere! Admission is AED 15, except for children under 3, who can enter for free. Mondays are family days!

For those who are more interested in the cultural part of the events in UAE April 2015, you can visit an extremely interesting collection of paper sculptures. Yasmin Sinai made all the sculptures using paper and cardboard and named the exposition The Act of Gordafarid – The Female Warrior. This event is available until the 20th of April at the Courtyard Gallery in Dubai, so you have plenty of time to schedule a visit. Plus, the admission is free, so no need to worry about that!

Remaining in the cultural area, we simply have to let you know that recently the traveling exhibition of the Nobel Museum has arrived in Dubai. This is the place to be if you want to know more about the history, the value and the sacrifices countless people have made in order to achieve it. Thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this exhibition is free for all. You can find it under the name “The Nobel Prize: Ideas Changing the World” at the Burj Khalifa until the 30th of April.

If you love camels, one of the events in UAE April 2015 you can’t miss is the camel festival. The Al Marmoum Heritage Festival lasts from the 1st of April until the 13th and it features thousands of trained camels from the Middle East that will compete together with their owners. There will also be shows related to the country’s culture and traditions, and lots of other interesting activities, even for expats. Even the visitors have the chance to win significant prizes there, so keep an eye on the event! The admission is free and the event takes place at the Al Marmoum Camel Racetrack, on Dubai Al Ain Road.

Cityscape Abu Dhabi lasts for three days, from Tuesday 21st of April until Thursday 23rd of April. It is open on all three days from 10:00 to 19:00 and you cannot entry if you haven’t previously registered. Of course, no registration is accepted for people who are under 18. There is also a required dress code, business or traditional, so you might want to make sure your outfit is adequate for the meeting. The place where you have to be is the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, so make sure you know how to get there. Also, you should think about finding some lodging in advance, because it is a popular period and you might not find any places at hotels then. Other than that, enjoy the event and make some use of it!

So if you want to have a wonderful art experience, visit Madinat Jumeirah between March 18th and March 21st. Current Events in UAE: Dubai Cyclism Tour

WWE Live. Fans of wrestling, Abu Dhabi is the place to be between the 12th and the 14th of February. Why? Because at the Zayed Sports City you will find all the great stars in wrestling, from John Cena, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose to Rusev, Luke Harper and many more.

Omega Dubai Desert Classics 2015. Golf is the sport of the rich people, and even if you’re not rich, you might be interested to know that this is a wonderful event that has a prize pool of $2.5 million USD. Needless to say,  here you will find amazing names in golf. It takes place at the Emirates Golf Club between the 29th of January and the 1st of February.

Gulfood 2015. After all these sports, you must be hungry. No worries, there are current events in UAE that take care of your stomach too. Gulfood 2015 is a great annual food show that is guaranteed to make even the biggest gourmand happy and satisfied. It takes place from the 8th of February until the 12th at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

RedFest DXB 2015. Suitable for any teenager or fan of commercial dance music, this event presents famous artists like Iggy Azalea, Kiesza or The Script. It takes place on the 12-13 of the February at the Dubai Media City Amphitheater.

Abu Dhabi Food Festival

What is it about: As you can tell, it’s a gastronomic feast for those who enjoy Arabian cuisine and not only. Local and international chefs come here to demonstrate their talents and to reproduce menus from all around the world. Here you will find delicious meals suitable for every family or individual and for every taste!

When: There are three events in this festival, one of which is the Gourmet Festival, for those who enjoy fine dining, between February 11 and 21. There is also the Emirati Kitchen, dedicated only to the authentic cuisine in the UAE, that takes place between February 5 and 7, and the last one is the StreetFest, a caravan of food trucks with different countries specialties at reasonable prices. You can find the caravan in Madinat Zayed between 5th and 7th of February, at Green Mubazzarah between 12th and the 14th and at the Abu Dhabi Corniche between 19th and the 21st of February. Enjoy!

Red Bull Air Race 2015

For those who love adrenaline, the Red Bull Air Race 2015 is one of the current events in Abu Dhabi that you must not miss! 14 excellent pilots will race in high-end planes just 15-20 meters above the ground, reaching speeds of almost 370 km/h. If you want to have the best views on the race, you should think of finding a place on the wonderful beachfront, and don’t forget to bring your camera!

Qasr al Hosn Festival 2015

This is one of the current events in Abu Dhabi that is suitable for the entire family. The famous Qasr al Hosn fort opens its doors to the public for this great festival that is intended to celebrate the fascinating centuries heritage, the history of this place and in general the Emirati tradition and culture. And what place better to celebrate the Emirati culture than the birthplace of the capital of the UAE?

Here you can find out more information about the conservation process of the fort, its functions in the past and you also have the great opportunity to visit the inner fort. More than that, enjoy a visit to the National Consultative Council Chamber and see areas that have never been opened to the public before, like the living quarters of the fort.

Even if you’re not too familiar with the area or with its significance, there is also an exhibition during the festival which explains the importance of the fort and the historical and political context of the area. For more details about this, you can also visit the Cultural Foundation, where you can find other exhibitions, interactive activities and installations that can help you have a better overlook on what the festival is really about.
