Vornado 660 vs 633 Key Differences

Why this key difference is important to know before you buy?

First and foremost the key difference between the 2 fans is: size

And we are not just talking about the physical size, that really just stems from the core design of the two fans. The 633 fan is smaller because it is a ‘medium air circulator’ while the 660 is a ‘large room air circulator. This is important for determining which fan will work best for you.

For example, if you want a fan to put on a desk in front of you, it would do you good to have the 660 as you are likely to get blown away, just as if you want something to help cool a large room, there is not much point getting a small table fan.

So how big is the difference?

The 660 blows 584CFM at the highest speed while the 633 blows 389 CFM at the highest speed. At their lowest speeds, however, the difference is small.

That’s great and all, but what does CFM really mean?

Put it this way.

According to Vornado, the 633 moves air 75ft, and the 660 moves air 100ft, so the 660 is a bit more powerful and better for larger rooms.

What other differences are there?

There are a few more differences between the 2 fans worth considering. One is the design of the front grill.

The front grill is quite important as it is how you get inside the fan so you can clean it and if you have a lot of dust around your home, you will definitely want to get in there.

With the 633 a number of people found the front grill difficult to open as it has 3 screws which you need to unscrew before you can ‘pop’ the front grill off.

This was the most common complaint we found in regard to the 633. The other difference worth noting is the fact that the 660 has 4 speeds instead of 3.

This gives you a bit more control over the airflow and how powerful you want the fan to be at any given time. While the 633 has a difficult time with being able to clean inside, the 660, according to a few customers gathers a lot of smudging due to the fact it is very glossy.

Vornado 660 vs 633 Conclusion

Overall we think the 660 is the better choice. The 660 offers more power and if you don’t want as much power, you can always put the fan on a lower speed which is not too dissimilar to the 633.

Effectively you are getting the same fan but with extra capacity in terms of airflow. Also, the 660 turns out to be the easiest of the 2 fans to clean. Like the 733 the 660 seems to be a higher quality option air circulator.
